Volkswagen Group has upgraded and consolidated several dealerships in Northern Ireland, merging Volkswagen and Škoda sites while closing smaller, less viable locations. The changes aim to streamline operations, improve customer service, and strengthen the Group’s presence across key markets in the region.
Isaac Agnew Group will operate the upgraded shared dealerships for Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Škoda in Belfast and Mallusk, providing a centralised, brand-aligned experience. Meanwhile, the Donnelly Group has added new sites in Ballymena and Dungannon, covering Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Škoda, and Seat/Cupra brands. The restructuring focuses on financially robust, long-standing partners to ensure continuity of service and convenience for customers.
While Volkswagen Group has not yet disclosed which smaller dealerships will close, Audi locations in Belfast and Portadown, as well as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sites in Mallusk and Londonderry, remain unaffected. The strategy reflects a targeted approach to optimise network efficiency without disrupting operations for other key brands.
David Allen, head of network development at Volkswagen Group UK, described the changes as part of a long-planned process to address customer needs, consolidate operations, and provide a high-quality, consistent service across Northern Ireland. He also acknowledged the contributions of long-term partners whose dealerships will not continue under the new structure, emphasising gratitude and continued focus on customer satisfaction.
The network upgrades signal Volkswagen Group’s commitment to maintaining brand alignment, operational resilience, and customer experience in Northern Ireland, while enabling investors to manage larger, more sustainable sites.
