Self-driving shuttle hits the road in Belfast Harbour

Belfast Harbour has launched Northern Ireland’s first self-driving public shuttle, the Harlander, connecting the Titanic Quarter train station to the Catalyst tech campus. Designed for “last mile connectivity,” the electric, right-hand-drive vehicle operates without a driver—though a safety operator is on board. Developed with partners including Oxa, BT and Horiba Mira, the pilot is free to use and part of Belfast’s wider push toward Smart Port infrastructure and autonomous transport integration.
