Dublin Airport has launched Ryan’s Pub in Terminal 2, creating a new touchpoint for passenger engagement and customer experience.
The pub, developed by The Wright Group, blends the charm of a traditional Irish local with the energy of Ireland’s busiest international gateway, opening daily from 04:00.
The pub’s name draws inspiration from a photograph by Tom Lawlor showing Mary Ryan hanging out her washing beneath an Aer Lingus jumbo jet. Dublin Airport notes that generations of the Ryan family later worked at the airport, making the name a fitting tribute to its community heritage.
Ronan Fitzsimons, commercial director at Dublin Airport, explained that passenger feedback made it “loud and clear” there was demand for a traditional Irish pub in Terminal 2. Michael Wright, CEO of The Wright Group, added: “Ryan’s pub celebrates a strong family legacy and the spirit of a true Irish local. We’ve created a warm, authentic and welcoming space at Dublin Airport, and we’re proud to add Ryan’s to our airport portfolio while creating new jobs in the Fingal area.”
The launch aligns with the airport’s broader strategy to enhance passenger satisfaction, dwell-time experiences, and ancillary revenue streams. Elsewhere, The Clipper Bar & Kitchen is set to open in Terminal 1 Arrivals, inspired by the first transatlantic Clipper flights between New York and Foynes, Co. Limerick.
Passenger numbers at Dublin Airport reached a record 36.4 million in 2025, up more than 5% from the previous year, while the 32-million passenger cap remains suspended amid ongoing policy discussions.
The airport’s heritage and hospitality initiatives reflect a commitment to delivering distinctive, high-quality experiences that balance operational efficiency with customer engagement.
