Irish healthtech spinout eAltra is using artificial intelligence to tackle one of cancer care’s most persistent inefficiencies – last-minute chemotherapy cancellations.

The web-based platform, developed out of Trinity College Dublin, uses an AI-powered conversational system to triage patients before treatment. By identifying potential issues earlier, it aims to reduce cancellations by up to 25%, streamlining care and improving outcomes for patients and providers alike.

Founder Denis Roche, also behind long-term care tech company Vivartes, says the platform gives clinicians clearer, earlier insight into patient-reported symptoms, enabling better decisions and fewer wasted sessions.
