WH Ireland has implemented the MorganAsh Resilience System (MARS) to automate vulnerability identification and Consumer Duty compliance reporting across its retail client book, deploying standardised Resilience Ratings and automated trigger events for life changes including bereavement and health deterioration; the implementation consideration is not publicly disclosed.
WH Ireland is a Manchester-founded discretionary and advisory wealth management firm, acquired by Team plc (LON: TEAM) in March 2026 in an all-share deal valuing WH Ireland's issued share capital at approximately £12.7 million, bringing Team plc's total group AUM to approximately £0.97 billion. WH Ireland had annual revenue of approximately $29.3 million (€26.8 million) in 2026.
MorganAsh is a UK-based resilience and vulnerability assessment specialist whose revenue is not publicly disclosed. The MARS platform generates standardised Resilience Ratings across client books, automates trigger events for life changes and produces segmented data reports for FCA Consumer Duty board-level annual reviews.
The structural driver is the FCA Consumer Duty's explicit requirement that firms evidence good outcomes for retail clients at an aggregate level, not just on a case-by-case basis. Wealth management firms with discretionary and advisory client books face a particular challenge: relationship managers historically assessed vulnerability through individual professional judgement, creating inconsistent identification across a firm and an audit trail that is difficult to defend at board review or FCA supervision.
MARS resolves that inconsistency by applying a standardised Resilience Rating to every client at onboarding and periodic review, generating a firm-wide dataset that satisfies the Consumer Duty's requirement for auditable management information. The FCA's first Consumer Duty board reports were required from July 2024, and the regulator has signalled that evidencing the process by which vulnerability is identified is a supervisory priority.
For WH Ireland, the timing is commercially strategic as well as regulatory. The firm has operated under restructuring pressures through 2024 and 2025; embedding institutional-grade compliance infrastructure before full integration into Team plc's platform demonstrates regulatory readiness that supports the enlarged group's credibility with the FCA at the moment of change of control.
For the sector, the WH Ireland adoption signals that even sub-£1 billion AUM wealth managers are investing in systematic vulnerability frameworks rather than relying on adviser discretion, a shift that will accelerate as FCA supervisory focus on Consumer Duty implementation intensifies into 2026 and 2027.
