Belfast technology services provider Leaf IT has appointed Andrew Johnston as managing director, with founder Steven Goldblatt transitioning to executive chairman as part of a structured growth plan according to a Belfast News Letter report.

The leadership transition strengthens the all-island IT and cyber security provider for its next growth phase whilst maintaining continuity for customers and partners. Johnston brings significant experience, having spent 10 years with Deloitte in Belfast and Dublin advising on growth and investment strategies, followed by four years as chief financial officer of a high-growth technology partner.

During his previous tenure, Johnston supported rapid scaling, completed multiple acquisitions, and helped secure debt and equity funding. In his new role, he will work closely with Goldblatt and the senior management team to build on Leaf IT's foundations with continued focus on customer service and long-term partnerships.

Johnston stated his role involves scaling the business without losing what has made Leaf IT trusted, emphasising service excellence, investing in people and partnerships, and helping customers turn technology from operational burden into strategic advantage.

Goldblatt described the appointment as a natural next step for Leaf IT, allowing accelerated growth whilst maintaining values and relationships upon which the business has been built. He will remain closely involved, guiding growth strategy and supporting clients to ensure stability and continuity.

Founded over 20 years ago, Leaf IT has grown from local IT support provider into a leading managed technology and cyber security partner across Ireland, delivering managed IT, cloud, productivity, and cyber security services to SMEs with many customer relationships spanning decades.

The company recently refreshed its brand, relocated to larger Belfast offices, and continued team investment.
