US-based business jet manufacturer Gulfstream has opened its first dedicated customer support centre in Singapore at Seletar Airport, in partnership with Jet Aviation, as the company moves to deliver a more seamless and localised service experience for customers across the Asia-Pacific region, according to Aerospace Global News.

The facility is staffed by a team of eight Gulfstream professionals, including customer technical managers, materials and quality team members, a field service representative and a regional sales manager. The on-site team structure is designed to resolve customer needs more directly and efficiently, reducing reliance on remote support channels for operators based across Asia-Pacific.

The new support centre complements Gulfstream's existing 5,000 sq ft distribution centre in Singapore, which fulfils more than 70% of regional parts orders and houses more than US$70 million (€64.2 million) in dedicated spare parts inventory. Together, the two facilities form an integrated service and supply infrastructure supporting Gulfstream's long-term regional growth strategy and its ambition to expand in-house component support across the market.

Lor Izzard, Senior Vice President of Gulfstream Support, described Singapore as a "natural choice given its role as a leading aerospace hub," noting increased business activity across Asia as a primary driver of the investment decision.

Izzard added: "Having a dedicated on-site team allows Gulfstream to deliver a more seamless and convenient service experience for customers across the region."

The opening reflects growing operator demand for localised, responsive OEM support in Asia-Pacific, where business aviation activity is expanding and customers increasingly expect manufacturer-level service capability closer to their base of operations. Embedding Gulfstream personnel directly within an authorised service centre enables faster turnaround on technical queries, parts sourcing and field support without customers navigating multiple points of contact.

The Singapore facility joins a broader cluster of aviation service investment at Seletar Aerospace Park, with Bombardier recently announcing a US$100 million (€91.7 million) facility at the same location, and WingsOverAsia having broken ground on a new MRO and innovation centre expected to be operational by 2027.
