Northern Ireland’s latest Non-domestic Consumer Insight Tracker reveals a marked improvement in business sentiment across the energy market. Just 30% of businesses now express concern about energy bills, down sharply from 53% in 2023. Satisfaction is also on the rise, with 62% of electricity and 65% of gas consumers reporting positive experiences with their suppliers.

Trust is improving too — more businesses believe their supplier offers fair pricing and clear communication. However, demand for support is increasing, with nearly half (48%) of respondents seeking more energy-related advice and information, up from just 18% last year.

The findings will shape future regulatory action by the Utility Regulator, ensuring a more responsive and informed approach to supporting business consumers.
