Best4Travel has announced the acquisition of Skytours, the long-established Dublin travel agency, marking a major expansion for the Irish-owned company. The deal increases Best4Travel’s retail footprint to 13 outlets and reinforces its growth strategy into 2026 and beyond.
Skytours, founded by John Bergin, has built a reputation for bespoke holidays and personalised service. As part of the agreement, Bergin will retain ownership of Golfbreaks.ie, while Best4Travel assumes control of Skytours’ leisure business and DiscountTravel.ie. Bergin will serve as an advisor during the integration phase.
All existing Skytours staff will remain in place, maintaining continuity for customers and preserving over three decades of expertise. Best4Travel employs nearly 60 staff nationwide and continues to grow in key markets including USA and Canada travel, luxury holidays, cruises, and guided tours.
The company is also investing heavily in digital transformation, developing its in-house operating platform “Bestie” alongside new consumer-facing websites to enhance service delivery and customer engagement.
Jeff Collins, Best4Travel Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Skytours into the Best4Travel Group. Skytours has been a trusted name in Irish travel for more than three decades, and this acquisition strengthens our nationwide presence while enhancing the service we provide to customers.”
John Bergin, Founder of Skytours, added: “After many years building the Skytours brand, I am pleased to see the business move to a company that shares the same commitment to customer service and innovation. Best4Travel is the right partner to guide Skytours into its next chapter… I am confident the team and customers are in very good hands.”
The acquisition consolidates Best4Travel’s long-term vision for expansion, digital innovation, and superior customer experience across Ireland’s travel sector.
